Educational Qualifications Required for SSC Stenographer Posts

Candidates must have passed the 12th (Intermediate) standard. Additionally, they must possess the stenography skills required for these posts. Applicants must be able to complete a dictation in English or Hindi lasting 10 minutes at a pace of 100 words per minute (wpm) for the position of Stenographer Grade ‘C’. The required dictation speed is 80 wpm for Stenographer Grade’ D’.

SSC Stenographer Vacancy Age Limit

  • For Grade C Posts: 18 to 30 years
  • For Grade D Posts: 18 to 27 years

Note: The age limit will be determined as per the cut-off date specified in the official notification.

SSC Stenographer Recruitment Application Fee

The Female candidates and SC/ ST, Ex-servicemen, and physically handicapped categories are exempted from the payment of the application fee. Applicants from the General, EWS, & OBC categories are required to pay an application fee of ₹100/- to submit their forms successfully for the SSC Stenographer Recruitment.

SSC Stenographer Grade C, D Posts Selection Process

The selection process for SSC Stenographer Recruitment 2024 consists of the following stages:

  1. Computer-Based Test: This will be an online exam consisting of objective-type questions, carrying a total of 200 marks.
  2. Shorthand Skill Test: This test is qualifying in nature and will assess the candidates’ stenography skills.
  3. Document Verification: Candidates who clear the computer-based and shorthand skill tests will be called for document verification.
  4. Medical Fitness Test: Final selection will be contingent on the candidates being medically fit.
